help with cloth fx

in trying to perform thi cloth fx simulation my i got the problems u can see from te image beath

any suggestion on how to set the simulation in order to avoid the final disaster?

To me it looks like you need more frames in the cloth simulation to let everything settle. You need to make that bowl a collision object as well. Turning off cloth self collision will remove the wrinkles if thats what you want.

rotating the cloth plane to control the order of the collision may help to . I would try it so the front of the couch collides first and then it collides toward the back .
