Renderer problem

Hello, I'm using Windows Vista Ultimate 64bit with Lightwave 64. Computer has 8GB of ram. The problem I am having is when I render an image, and the render completes it shows the Render status window but not the finished image window until I hit Ctrl+alt+del then click cancel the finished image window shows up then. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? Just noticed it recently.
