I thought it was time I posted some of my work.
Lw 9.3.1, HDR + luminous polys for light and of course Dielectric material for the glass
I would love to hear your comments and critiques
I`ll just head back over to my lurking corner now.:lwicon:

ummm wow...
thats really, really good. You are therefore banned from lurking and forced to post work daily as well as tutorials, scene files, objects, textures and a direct usb port into your brain! (or FW800 if compatible)

Great work. :)

EDIT: Ah, yes, I found your DeviantArt account and that is where I saw it, you dont seem to use it much though. :P

Blindsided - the lurking will probably continue I`m afraid, but you could find a couple of annotated wire-frame pics over in this album (http://my.opera.com/sprogger/albums/show.dml?id=180133)
There are a couple of very basic tutorials over in this group that I put together, Very very basic (http://my.opera.com/Learning%203D/blog/):D

Eagleeyed - You are well named..well spotted

Bytehawk - Hardfx:thumbsup: it nearly broke my brain though

Nice render, what was the render time (and machine)?

How did you get that caustics? Or did you fake it?

COBRASoft - I cant recall the exact time it took I`m afraid but I think it was in the region of 2 hours on a pentium D 3ghz with 2 gb ram. that was at 1280x960 rez. You could probably have shortened the render time considerably but that would have taken longer than just rendering at the higher settings.
There was a low powered area light for the caustics and to help a little with the contact shadows, which i had forgotten until you asked.

greeb1957 - that has to be one of the best things you could say about a render like this, Cheers:)

Ztreem - Thanks:thumbsup:

hi there.
I love this image, it looks really cool.
You said you used hardFX that almost fired your bran....WHY?
Thanks:D
It was my own lack of experience and what seemed to be somewhat unpredictable results from the calculations. At one point all the tablets were bouncing off the open top of the glass, and I`m still not sure why:compbeati

Thanks for all the nice comments guys:thumbsup:
The Matrix and Alice in Wonderland...I must be doing something right.

Sorry it took so long to get back on this but when you cant see them you cant answer them

bounding box collision setting...?

I believe they call that drink 'The Belushi'.

bounding box collision setting...?

I`m still not sure what it was. I ended up making a copy of the inside of the glass and using it as the collision object, worked for me.
I believe they call that drink 'The Belushi'.
Indeed. :)

Takes me a couple of months to get through that many.
