Hi,
I'm trying to create a custom lower third overlay. I've followed the tutorial on the NewTek web site, but I must be doing something wrong. Can anyone give me more detail about editing the script file. And also about what needs to be in the alpha chanell on the TGA file.

Jon? Do let us know...
1. which TriCaster™ model you're working from, and
2. let us know the link where you found said tutorial
...in case we'd like to give it a whirl before following up with you.

We are working from the Tricaster STUDIO.
Here is a link to the tutorial:
http://www.newtek.com/tricaster/tutorials/TCTemplates/
I actually go it to work now. The tutorial is also correct for the new upgrade of Tricaster except that the folder where the overlay templates are stored is different now.
The correct folder is:
\Tricaster\User Data\Default User\TitleTemplates\Templates\_ALLTEMPLATES_
To make it work I created my custom graphics in Photoshop and made a PNG with an alpha chanell. Like the tutorial says to do. The tutorial suggests that TGA is the best format, but the TGA file format did not work for me for some reason. Just came up as a black screen.
The Thumb.PNG file had to be the correct resolution to show up in the thumbnail. 200x135
Then I copied a folder from one of Tricasters templates and replaced the Bk.png and thumb.png files with my graphics. I just named them the same thing so that the script would not have to be edited for those files.
Then I edited the script just a bit to reposition the text. that took a long time because I had to restart Tricaster every time I wanted to see what my edits looked like on the screen.
Anyway, it can be done. Not too hard if you are smarter than me.
