I have a 4000 frame animation, and from frame 0-2400 i want to camera to stay in one place, then from 2450 to 3500, i want it to move to a new location. I have tried everything to keyframe this, but for some reason I can't get the camera to stay in one place. Any help on how to animate this would be much appreciated.

Open the graph editor and change your incoming curve type. I usually use a bezier curve incoming, which allows you to control both the incoming and outgoing curve shapes with the tangent handles being separate. Load a channel into the graph, select the key at frame 2400, change the incoming curve type to "bezier", and flatten the incoming curve. Repeat on X, Y, and Z axes, and you should be good to go.

Or just change the incoming curve to "Linear".
Or just change the incoming curve to "Linear".
Well, if you wanted to be all ... you know, sensible about it, you could certainly do that, too. :D
Or change the mode to "step" or add another camera and in the master plugins turn on "camera handler"

Just get used to editing curves. You'll need to know this if you want to animate anything really anyway. Linear is just on and off setting. I never recommend it. Especially for camera movement because you want a gradual start.
Look here for explanation near end of thread (http://www.newtek.com/forums/showthread.php?t=79077&highlight=graph+editor). This applies to anything you are animating over time with keyframes.
