Lasers in Lightwave

I've been looking around for a while, and I've got a number of starwars ships that I've modelled. They're looking ok and all, but I really want to make some great laser effects, and well... I just don't know how to do it, or where to find out. Any help would be great.

Some pipes/cylinders with the right laser color/transparency and luminosity plys effects like glow might do the trick... I think I saw a tutorial once too...

I took the stuff you sent and did a little reading. I ended up doing a 2 pt poly w/ 2000 lum and corona turned on (had to tweak corona a bit but it was easy enough) came out really good.
