a quick question if i may.... is there any way to have bones which are ACTIVE, INVISIBILE, and UNSELECTABLE in layout? im using ikbooster and keep running across this damn frustrating issue where i try to select a controller at one end of a bone, and suddenly end up with either an adjacent bone, or alternatively with some other seemingly randomly selected item somewhere else in my scene...like a light or camera, which could be just about anywhere.
im just trying to limit the number of selectable items to the controls ive set up without actually losing the influence of all the other bones in the rig.

cheers all and happy animating

Open the Scene editor and the third column controls the selection lock. So multi select the bones you want to lock, and click in that column, and it will lock those bones so they can't be selected.

I myself use this script:

It allows you to multi select the bones and set visibility, lock, channel locks and channel control (IK, keys etc) in the one interface quickly and easily.

Also you can edit the location of the controllers at anytime to place them in an easier location to select.

i was under the impression that hitting the padlock freezes all of the items attributes.... but i shall give it a crack, thank you both..
