Is there anyway to use the move camera hotkey (alt+mouse button) and not have the camera roll in modeler?

Im not 100% sure but i dont think there is, personally the only time i ever use alt + mouse to rotate the perspective view is when it gets locked (happens if u rotate so your looking directly up or down sometimes), i always use the rotate button at the top of the view.

Thanks for the reply.

I was afraid of that. Funny how it works differently in Layout.

that's good to know, ive always had problems with it locking up and i could never figure out how to unlock other than rebooting the modeler that should save me quite a bit of time and trouble!

very handy SpanDaddy, allways a problem when you are using far to many polygons with a slightly decrepid machine!

Yeah :) I figured alt+L mouse button rotation in modeler after I've learn Maya. In Maya rotate, move and zoom done through alt+mouse buttons. So, just after working couple of weeks in Maya I've returned back to LW and ocassionaly found this rotation. And it perfectly escape "perspective lock" in modeler. Before that when I was locked I had to move mouse with enormous speed in every direction :D

funny? i find it extremely annoying. i like modeler's behavior because it allows me to get to places that are hard. i like maya's style better for general navigation of a scene and animation.

needless to say, i do not like layout's navigational behavior. reminds me of playing Homeworld (identical behavior).
