OK, ran into this problem again, have tweaked and tweaked (don't actually know how I got rid of it before), but now I can't seem to get it to work...
Rendering with Fprime 3.01 and one area light as sunlight... Maybe that area light causes (have had lots of problems with area lights with fprime)
The more it refines the image, the more speckels show up...
Other than that, image is quite a WIP yet...

HI, I had a similar problem with Fprime rendering an interior shot a while ago, but the speckles were white. I contacted Worley and they had the following to say:
"Hi Marc, Looks like it's not an FPrime bug actually but rather this particular scene is a worst case example for any radiosity render engine. We're pretty sure that the speckles will go away, given enough time. The rendering problem has to do with the fact that some of the upstairs radiosity is from bounced light entering through the relatively small opening of the staircase. For technical reasons, FPrime( and LightWave ) has to do a lot more work to remove the noise in these areas when the geometry is in this kind of arrangement. You'll notice in the rendered image that you've sent us, the speckles are on the upper level and the staircase only. One workaround, especially if you're not doing a fly through animation, might be to cover the top of the stairwell with a single poly that blocks the small amount of light that's coming up the staircase. You can also try raising the FPrime lighting quality even higher and allowing the scene to render even longer. Keep in mind too that FPrime render mode renders faster than the FPrime preview mode so it's always a good idea to render your final images using render mode. Sorry there's no easy solution to this problem."
I did as they said and it solved the problem, although I found that setting the scene up from scratch also did the same. I would recommend trying to set the scene up from scratch again, importing the object, set lights up etc. If all else fails, contact Worley, support at Worley is great, quick replies and very helpful. Fantastic for a tiny company.

Yea, once again got the work around by redoing the whole scene... Still haven't figured out what causes this every now and then... Mostly also because the exterior light setup is so easy and simple... so I can't do lot to tweak it...
I think I said this before but I get this problem when I use the Edit Image function while Fprime is running.
If I replace an HDR, for example, FPrime sometimes won't refresh properly and I get these coloured artifacts. I have to use FPrime Refresh or completely close LW down and restart.

It wasn't anything like that, tried all that kind of stuff, and don't use HDR images...
It's just something... Nothing helped until I made a scene and lightsetup from the scratch...

I had a problem where I had a ton of noise on a surface and no matter what I did it did not go away until I remodeled that part and it was gone. That was my last resort.
