I made a basic rig for hand and now want to add IK in the rig.

Each finger get tree bones
I add a small Bone at the top of the Chain to follow my goal

Now when I use the up and down arrow to select object (or bones), Lightwave is selecting the items by orders of creation, I want it to select items by hierarchy, is there a way to do that without rebuild the rig?

This was always something I thought could easily be fixed in LW, but was not.

Offhand, you can look to see if there are plugins under ADDITIONAL, and then remap your keyboard to them. Someone else may also have suggestions.

Very nice idea thank! (But I agree a switchable selection mode would be great:) )

Hu? What's to fix!? The only thing that needs fixing is the default hotkeys. If that's what you meant, I agree. But they would need to do alot of fixing to satisfy me and my workflow :)

Look under the Items command group in Configure Keys panel, there you will find Select Parent, Select Child, Select Next Sibling, Select Previous Sibling. I have these mapped to Up, Down, Right, Left. It is much more predictable (100%) and useful (+1000%) than the default preset of Next and Previous Item (0% predictability unless you have mega memory and inefficient for navigating hierarchies). I don't even like the production style menus which so many praise.
