i'm just getting started to learn the GuI of LW, is it possible to make use of the wheel mouse for zooming inside LW? thanks.

Why would you want to? Ctrl-Alt-Drag is so smooth. It's been my favorite form of zooming from any app.

Having used this in autocad for ages, I totally understand the request. It just becomes second nature to zoom and pan using your index finger alone.

While I prefer the dragging method, I encourage as much customability as possible. We all work differently.

When I started learning LW it was really frustrating to rotate the wheel and see that nothing happens! And now things are not much better, but you get used after all...
But's a pity to leave the wheel unused, I mean, it's there for a purpose, so, just use it: if not for zooming, at least (like PS) to move the window up and down!
