I would like to know if it is possible to kill winrtme for one session: when I kill it, it automatically re-open itself when I make an access to every partition of my system in every application.

Because, from what I've seen, winrtme takes about 2-4% of CPU usage. Wondering if it is possible to kill it for rendering at full rate (not that great enhance, but if it would be possible, why not).

WinRTME is needed by the Toaster. And is needed by the sound device. Everytime you open up a window, "Windows" needs to play that "click" sound. So Winrtme launches...

The key is to know when to kill it and how NOT to reactivate it.

For instance, I kill it right before the final mouse selection needed to start TMPGEnc rendering. It makes a significant difference.

I found out what happened:
If you keep open an instance of explorer to search files in your HDs, every time you open a folder winrtme starts up. So if you kill it but then you use explorer to find a pic or a scene to open in Photoshop or Lightwave WINRTME starts up.

The key is to know when to kill it and how NOT to reactivate it.
Yes Eugene, you're right. It is sufficient to Kill Winrtme before a task of render or after you are inside a Program and you don't need explorer anymore.
