Hi ... Is is possible to bake/save (normal) displacement to a mesh ?

You can use save transformed.

arggr, indeed ... you know that i'ts there somewhere ... :-) Do you maybe know what's more render-friendly ? :
1. normal displacement with highres bitmap texture and high value subdivision level on the object
2. save the normal displacement out to a mesh and use this object (no subdivison)
3. save the normal displacement out to an .mdd and use this as deformation on the object (high value subdivision level)
... with no deformation animation on the object.
