Just saw the new information on Premiere Pro... It looks like there are some major improvements here. Since it is the largest, most used editing software on the market, I am wondering if Newtek has any plans of working with them more directly?
And yes I know Bob is making plugins for the software. I jus thought I would ask.

Yes, Premiere Pro does look very interesting, and I also think support for it in VT[3] would be a good idea.
But as for Bob Tasa, you are incorrect. He has already announced that he is NOT updating his Toaster plug-ins for Premiere Pro.
Unfortunately, his Premiere plug-ins for Toaster didn't sell well, so unless something happens from the Newtek side, Bob is moving on to other systems.

Yeah I heard that. It's too bad because the only reason I purchased the Toaster was because there was support for Premiere. I hope Newtek does not drop the ball on this.

I must say in all fairness that Premiere Pro LOOKS interesting. I know very little about it as of right now. I do know this. I do not like Speed Razor AT ALL.

Subject: New Premiere plugins from Bob coming very soon.
BobsSoftFX
Hi all, I will be releasing a couple of standalone plugins
for Premiere6/6.5/Premiere Pro.
The just announced Premiere Pro will work in native YUV space.
What do these plugins do?
They are my organic wipes called BobsSoftFX.
I will be placing up webpages and such ASAP.
Theses plugins can be used as an Organic Wipe or an Effect. When used
as an effect it joins the existing alpha information together with the
wipe which allows you to wipe on or off titles that have tranparency.
This is something Premiere has been missing for a while and something
I know how to do ;-)
Price will be 49.95 and will be available as a download
from my website www.toastergarage.com
You will see more stuff like this coming out this month.

Well I researched as much as I could on Premiere Pro. It's definately a very impressive piece of software. A complete redesign from the ground up who is no doubt targeting people just like us.
My wish list for a NLE has always been based in the audio side. The ability to solo tracks, better envelopes for controlling audio, etc. If Premiere finally heard these things, or just took a look at Vegas Video's features. They will have me in a second. They did include Waveform and Vectorscope monitors. And a truely good color correction table. And finally I found out they now work in Native YUV colorspace.
I don't really care that much about real time.. But it sure would be nice if Newtek would support Premiere. After all, Bob proved that it's a benefit to Newtek to give it's customers this choice... We'll see what happens.

Everyone and their uncle are talking about Premiere Pro. It's color correction, new interface, new audio support, DVD support, and great pricing.. Matrox, Canopus, and even some HD providers are already gearing up to provide support for this wonderful new package and they have made it known.
So what's Newtek doing? Any plans? Anything at all?!?!
Is there something going on here that I do not know about?
Is there some exclusitivity agreement between Newtek and Speed Razor that keeps them from Newtek?
Is Newtek under pressure from it's dealers because Adobe products are hard for them to make money on?
I am already testing the idea of capturing in AVI uncompressed instead of RTV in the hopes that I can use premiere to edit with. But I have to say... While I like toaster, I would like it to be a bit more universal than it is right now. With the exit of a frustrated Bob Tasha some of us have been left out in the cold on the eve of our favorite editing package finally becoming professional-grade.
Perhaps I am alone in my feelings here.. As a customer I am asking Newtek to hear me and support Premiere like it supports Speed Razor, or even better. Would someone from the company please respond.

Oh, and turning on the audio on the SDI card would be nice too. perhaps some sort of timeline on that..
