Interesting review of the Quadro FX 1000/2000 vs the Quadro4 980 XGL - The LightWave scores would seem to indicate that now is not the time to be investing in one of these FX cards. Maybe [8] will take more advantage of modern OpenGL GFX cards..? Here's hoping...

I'm building another system and wanting to get a very good graphics card. I am researched all the posts and benchmarks I can stand. I have come to respect your viewpoint a lot.
Currently I am a rather contented Quadro Pro 2 user, and I figured I'd stick with Nvidia until I started looking at the Wildcat stuff. I agree that the new Nvidia FX looks exciting but very expensive in comparison to how much it can do for me the Lightwave user. The Quadro 4 980 looks good. The 5900 Ultra looks good and the Wildcat VP 970 or 880 Pro look good. The Wildcat VP 990 looks very good but too expensive. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated!
Thanks ahead of time!
