View Full Version : Moving Viewports to second monitor

Good day all,

I am fairly new to Lightwave and am using version 7. I recently installed a GFroce FX 5200 graphics card in my PC that supports dual VGA. I am using it just fine with two monitors but have not been able to figure out how to best use it in Lightwave Modeler.

I am able to move interfaces such as the surface editor and preset shelf to the second monitor with just a click and drag. What I would like to do is move some of the viewports over to the secondary monitor and maximize the Perspective view on the primary monitor. I would also like to move the main tool bar to the secondary monitor.

If there is a way to achieve this, I'm sure one of you on this forum knows how.

Thanks,
ralston vaz

LightWave's viewports are not detachable, so you can't do that.

Can you move Graph Editor over? I heard people were having problems with that.

If you are running n-view (I am assuming you are using a GForce card), just maximise Modeler to run across both monitors (enable horizontal spanning). Fire up Modeler & select Display options and how you want the viewports to be arranged. You can then resize the viewports to suit your screen by dragging the "borders". The viewports are not floating windows, so cannot be dragged over each other. The Left / Right toolbar select is also in the display options (shortcut 'd'), under the Interface tab.

Hope this helps a little.

>Joebob, the graph editor is a floating window, so you should be able to re-size and move easily.

Cheers,
