We want to set up a cross platform render farm. We only have lightwave for MAC. Do we have to buy lightwave for Windows in order to get the intel LWSN.exe?

Thanks for your help.

On my version of the installer (7.5) for Mac OSX it also had an installer for LWSN.exe and indeed Lightwave.exe and modeller.exe.

There are problems running LWSN cross platfrom. The file paths in the project files are platform specific - for mac the save path will say
MyMac:MyFolder:MyRender
which means nowt to a windows box who is looking for
MyPC\MyFolder\MyRender
(or is it /? whateverrrr)

The beauty of the system, and it's a corker, is that it won't tell you about this at the time you set it all running. It waits until you come in the next morning to see how it all went and discover that none of the windows files were saved. They just render away into the aether(net).

Aparently there are also problems with scenes using procedural textures that are rendered cross platform, due to some floating point thingamybob. Whatever it is, it causes frames rendered on a mac to be sliiiightly different to those done on Windoze which makes them "crawl"

Negative? me?
