This is my first model as well as my first post, but feel welcome to pick it apart, as long as you post what you think. My modelling skills are quite lacking as I really only learned to use smooth shift on this project. Anyway, you get the point, let me know what you think.

I said "land speeder" and I tossed one 20 meters into the sky! Oh well. It's a landplane (like a seaplane, but with less planning).

Not bad at all, might look better with some more detail.

A very nice flow to the shape of the thing - if you are going to keep it smooth, it would be great to see it in a more complex environment.
Only real suggestion - the top wing does look a bit thick and heavy - perhaps squidge the top and bottom of it a bit closer together?
They are a bit basic, but if you want some chunks of land to whizz it around, I have a couple for download at:

Nothing very special, but if you are on your first model, it might save you some time!
Cheers,
Nick

Er, if I may say so. You can check out www.flashdesignstudios.com (http://www.flashdesignstudios.com) and see my company's [brief] portfolio.the top wing does look a bit thick and heavy - perhaps squidge the top and bottom of it a bit closer together? That's a good idea. The plan for this looked more like a pancake attached to a hand-vac and was developed into this within Modeller. When I get back to the model I'll add some detail (ie. engines, door handles, a way to get it)....if you want some chunks of land to whizz it around Definitely. I could use the scene to practice pod-race style animation & editing.
Thanks, everyone for your input; a great welcome.

I'd love to see a wireframe of this speeder... wow... sleek... reminded me of terminator movies...

Here is a wireframe before and after sub-patches. I'm making some changes to the structure based on the comments I got here, so this isn't current, but it's the wireframe of what you see above.
(it's an animated gif which shows the other view every 2 seconds)

Here's a little Flash app I pulled together to show the model like a Quicktime VR.

Indeed you may, I was inquiring as to your skills simply that I might ask you for some assistance relating to current difficulties I am having with said aplication.:p
Just one Q about formatting and colouring text I have outputted to an MC. Please PM me if you have the time as I wouldn't like to side track your thread.:)

Nice. I like the cockpit area, the way it connects looks nice. I like the surface.
