Simple. You add them in the setup tab of modeler to specific polygons... ignore the settings, just hit ok...
then in you first make a light that has the characteristics you want to be multiplied, then you select the object with the luxis in, hit 'convert luxigons' in the stup tab and select that light. Then you might want to move the original polygons, delete them or make them 100% transparent for the lights are EXACTLY on the center of those polygons pointing in the normal direction. Sometimes one of those polys might block the light.

When Ive used them I use single and 2 point polys. The 2 point polys can be used for example to create spotlights the have the same direction. I typically will use separate layers in modeler for different types of lights. This also makes it easy to create light selection sets in the scene editor for making global changes on groups of lights.
