Nice work! very cool, original character and that volumetric lighting gives it a real fantasy look and feel. Kind of the style of those old "hippy" posters:D . I like it a lot.

That looks really good.
One question: I take it the fur is done with Sas or SasLite? If so, how did you get the volumetric effect with it (as I'm told neither version work with volumetrics)?
Adrian.

Hi Adrian,
I used the 'projection image' feature on a spotlight to create the volumatic effects. If you look closely you will see that the light does not actually interact with with the fur, i just looks like it does.
The image map also helped in creating the cast shadows on the fur which sasquatch does support.

You got that from Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki, right? Interesting rendition; rather than make it more an elk with a human head & horns, it's the elk head and the human[oid] body.

Interesting, ive never heard of "Princess Mononoke by Hayao Miyazaki". I would like to see the creature you speak of out of interest, do you have a link to a pic?

When I saw your image I thought of several connections the film, but when I went to get some pitctures, I saw how different they are, in fact. Here they are, grabbed from the trailer. It's a japanese anime film by Hayao Miyazaki, the same guy who made Spirited Away, which was such a hit over here (it won the Oscar for best animated film). Sorry I jumped to that conclusion; you can see how different they are.

No need to opologise m8,
I can see the link you made, same sort of vibe.
That film looks kind of interesting, i might check it out.
Cheers.
