Hi everybody!

I want to try to do something like the Microsoft Silverlight logo in lightwave and animate it. But I'm lost, i don't Know how start.
I think to star with splines to model it, but if i want animate it is hard.
Perhaps try with hypervoxels or Cloth dinamics...

any suggestion or help?

How does it animate? I can't tell from the images.

My first guess would be to create the swirly colors in AfterEffects, then export a .mov file with alpha channel. Use this animated texture on a sphere and render.

If you want to go for the harder, realism look, it will take a lot of time playing with colors, index refractions, nodes, and animation. Cloth sim is too unpredictable.

Now that I think about it, it might be possible using a morphmap on a simple model and in layout use the trail_plugin technique (see motiongraphics thread) to make it fluid and grow. That trail could then also use sticky_plugin on a transparent sphere to keep it glued there.

That would actually be an interesting study.
