I need to get a lower thierd from live type to SE or VT4.6 editor
I did it a while ago with 4.6 but i had to take every one of them into aura and convert them to rtv w alpha. Now with SE can I take a live type file and use quicktime.? or .move, thats the one im thinking of useing. I just dont want to convert them. theres way too many to do. If you have the process down could you please help me.

As of SpeedEDIT 1.2, Quicktime with alpha channel is NOT supported in SE.

So, stick to RTV plus alpha for now.

So how will this help getting live type 3rds into SE? Is there no direct way
without another conversion?

Is VT5 on order Randall? Besides RTVA saveAs .tga32's for this job.

VT[5] (and SE 1.5) can handle Quicktimes with alpha. No TARGAs necessary...

Sure it will. Just get another gigOram and at least 250meg GPU. PCIe graphics carry a lot of improved graphics, but SE uses only a small part of overall graphics, mainly in handshaking between system and GPU ram. M$ config. setup correctly of course. Use a minimum 160gig sys.drv. but 250gig is even better. That box when retired will be a kickin SE/LW/MrageOasisToybox when retired. I need the $$'s but will only be going single Quad 4gigOram next year.

QTalpha? Please give us a codec name Steve. DVCPRO50? I've found SuperConverter, tia JimC, will bust Sorenson for SE use, with some work for the correct audio.

Post any of your concerns with SE Prefs Randall, they do matter for SE/system performance.

QTalpha? Please give us a codec name Steve. DVCPRO50? Unlikely - don't think that permits alpha, does it? However the Anim codec does (when correctly configured.)

TIA, I only posted dvcpro50 from those PAL's I DLoaded, where 4min. were 1.7gig files, or maybe 2:1 compression.

True, but his question was with the current SE (1.2) and VT[4.6], which as I said, do NOT support QT with alpha channel.

Sure, not contradicting you Eugene, just an update (and he did mention - below your post - that [5] is on order, so I thought that might be welcome news.) :)

And that it is. :)

so your saying that SE 1.5 is comming with VT5? and we only have 1.2 out right now? Maybe thats why its not working. Iv been trying all sorts of quicktime. movie, dvcpro, 50 and could not get an alphachannle to work.

SpeedEDIT VT is coming with VT[5].

You won't get QT with alpha to work unless you are using that, or a future version of stand-alone SpeedEDIT.
