Does Studio handle
A. 16:9 Anamophic?
B. 16:9 letter box
C. 16:9 native (SD)
D. if so how?
E. and what if I cut a 4:3 camera into the mix??? what happens in 16:9 mode to the 4:3 image?
Am I correct in saying that there's no preview of any cameras in the studio version?
thanks
Jeff

I guess it's busy around NewTek these days. Let me try:
A. 16:9 Anamophic?Sure.
B. 16:9 letter boxYou could do that too.
C. 16:9 native (SD)I don't think I understand the question. The only 16X9 SD format of my acquaintance is anamorphic, which you asked about above.
D. if so how?If C relates to D, I've no idea.
E. and what if I cut a 4:3 camera into the mix??? what happens in 16:9 mode to the 4:3 image?I'd have to test this to be sure, but believe a 4:3 file dropped into a 16:9 project will pillar box automatically. You could easily scale it up and crop if top and bottom to fill the frame if you prefer.
Am I correct in saying that there's no preview of any cameras in the studio version? There's a small preview window in the DV/HDV Capture pane.
Note please, this is all off the top of my head, subject to correction by someone sitting in front of a Studio system.

Just to be clear....
I can run a 16:9 anamorphic shot from a camera live into the tricaster studio and convert it live on the fly for live output in 16:9?
Thanks

ok, on the live side, I'd have to do some experimentation to see how mixed input formats are handled - I'll try to get to it later in the day, but am inclined to doubt the system can discriminate between anamorphic 16:9 and 4:3 in realtime.

any insight about cutting 4:3 cameras with a 16:9 camera?
Am I right in saying a 16:9 Standard DEF video camera is either Anamorphic or letter boxed?
thanks

If you are in 16:9 mode and feed it a 16:9 signal, it will be correct.
If you are in 4:3 mode and want to use a 16:9 camera, you will have to use a LiveSet Effect from the Utilities group to either letterbox that camera or crop to 4:3.
There are also 4:3 to 16:9 versions of these utility sets.
Note that you get one LiveSet effect per input, so it is best to match the cameras to the output mode of the TriCaster unless you only need these utility features or plan to make custom sets that accomplish both the aspect correction and what ever other effects you need simultaneously.
