Hi Everybody!

I had a boring night, so I created a board game (i think it's called draughts in english) but in Holland we say "dammen"... Not very complicated object, but I more an expiriment with textures...

Are you sure there is 4 rows of pieces ? I was sure there was only 3 (3 black and 3 whites)

Hi Garg,

yes, in holland, we play this game on a 10x10 board with 20 pieces each player, but I heard somewhere this game has many different implementations...

Nice job, but if this is a board sitting somewhere in holland (maybe Amsterdam) shouldn't it have a bong sitting next to it lol.

as i'm dutch, my english is not perfect and i don't know what a bong is?! is that some kind of junk? :p

It's called "checkers" in American.

A bong is a water pip for smoking drugs of some type (hashish?)

owh yeah, checkers hmm... that's the name :p where did "draughts" came from then? a waterpipe to smoke drugs... holland = drugsland right? we usually smoke that stuff in the normal way, but waterpipes are not uncommon :D most dutch people know how to make a waterpipe out of a cola bottle ;)

Anyway, try turning off the shadows for all but one of your lights.

as a dutchman, i'm interrested in a short tutorial how to make a waterpipe out of an apple... maybe something for your next LW project? :p yeah you're right about the shadows, but i rendered this one on my laptop (PII 333Mhz 64Meg Ram) and i didn't want to re-render it ;)

I've seen them made out of just about everything you can imagine. They say it leads to harder stuff, but really it just leads to carpentry lol.:D

hmmm.... hardest stuff I ever came up to was smoking tea :D don't try this @ home ;) when I got some time I'll create a bong for the scene, add a small room to it and try if I can manage to get a "special" mood ;) LOL
