Fun, scary and seasonal. Is the environment lightwave?
thanks,
yes , the trees were imported from vue, then modified their mesh and textures

Awesome, just like your last...
one little comment... the grain that's present in the sky should also cover the orange glow...
Really I just spent three days de-noising photographs... Only when something is blown out will there be no grain...
I agree,
I first added the noise on all the image but it looked like I enlarged it in photoshop :)
but it's true the orange glow is too clear, I will add that noise to it,
good catch ,
thanks

That actually made quite a lot more of a difference than one (like me) might think!
Good stuff - I think I remember the first version, too!

I can't get enough of haunted houses and this is a great one. It reminds me a little of Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris. The stark moonlight on the siding and the lavender trim really make it work for me.

As agv says "little of Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris". Theres also a tinge of H.P. Lovecraft there as well with the serpentine lizard thingy.
Gorgeous piece.

Nice work.
Good atmosphere, I'd add some more little spooky items hidden around, so you have to look for them!
It's looking great. I reckon using a little bit of DOF would help take away a bit of the overt CG-ness of the piece (the noise helps already).

It would look very cool animated ;)

Nicely done. Good camera angle.
I thought it looked familiar.
Disneyland Paris last October (Took us an hour to get their hair back to normal).......
Bad hair day, eh?
How did you like Phantom Manor, Iain?
Cynical as I am, I'd have to say I loved Disney. With two young kids, my days of just wandering around Barcelona are over for a few years so my attitude is I might as well embrace it and have a laugh.
The whole place is just good fun.
Sorry for highjacking the thread :hey:

Iain, you totally have to check out the Efteling (http://www.efteling.com/home.aspx?LanguageId=2) in the Netherlands. While they're still young enough to appreciate it, and I'm sure you will love it too.... it's the most genuine and thorough theme park I've ever seen and I'm pretty sure it's considered that all over the world. It's not so big, but also not so expensive and if you go on a smart day, no lines whatsoever!

yes, I based myself from the one in disneyworld in florida which looks the same as your photo, that's a really good photo of it :)
I will try a little bit of DOF on the right, not too much..
And maybe I will add a ghost or zombie or something like that too,
as a detail, far from the camera..
thanks a lot

Wow that looks very interesting. Thanks Tom, I'm always looking for ideas.
JML-I forgot to say, great work!

Did you model the house? It looks good.
Reminds me of this matte painting tutorial:

This is really nice. Great atmosphere.
Could you tell me how you imported the trees from Vue? When I try to do this, the mesh's just look rubbish (just big planars where the leaves are supposed to be). I'm guessing I'm missing a step out.

You need to select the clip map option as well as colour map when you export your lwo and then apply them in the lwo's transparency or clip map channel.
