Anyone work with Final Cut Studio know what is the best video format to export to when sending to the tricaster? I've tried several Mpeg formats and some work and some randomly hang on playback via the tricaster. (rather annoying when in the middle of a show) :cursin:

please advise.

Thanks !

MPEG, being highly compressed, would be a poor choice. DV would be something to try - prefereably a DV format AVI, but you could also try simply modifying the file extension of a QT DV file to .avi - sometimes at least, you can get away with that.

I banged my head against the wall for 2 weeks with that myself. Try this...File/Export/Using Quicktime Conversion. Then under Format: choose "DV Stream"...Use DV NTSC 44.1 khz.Under "Optins" choose DV and either interlaced or progressive for a scan mode...4:3 or 16:9 for an aspect ratio...and 44.1 khx again for the audio format. Don't know about the "locked" box. I leave it unchecked. These will not be remembered as a default. You'll have to set the parameters each time. Hope that saves you the pain and stress I went through.
