Sorry I didn't post this sooner, it has been a wild and crazy summer for me.

This past hockey season was a world of firsts for me. I was asked to do all the video production work for the NAHL Robertson Cup here in Fairbanks Alaska. When I told them I had a TC available to me, they were very excited as to what I could do.

I provided three camera angles on the ice for all eight games with no technical dificulties, and only one near miss from a hockey puck. But that's what we get for being stuck on the high rails!

Not only was it a first for the Ice Dogs to have three cameras, it was also a first for B2 Networks who rebroadcast the stream. They said they never had three cameras for this type of event. And acording to the NAHL rep that was there, I was the first person to produce three camera angles for any NAHL hockey game!

So, Way to go TC! Eight games with no lockups!

Well, they asked me to come back this year, and now I'm looking for my own equipment as I borrowed the TC. So if anyone is looking to have their buisness on live stream coverage of a now popular broadcast, please let me know! I'm looking for people to sponsor stream time, as well as donate towards equipment. There is no media department budget, I'm on my own for this.

Also, any suggestions for this season are more than welcome! I need more knowledge, and this is the best source of brain soup!

Thanks to NewTek, Terry Burge (training), Pastor Ron (Owner of TC), Bruce Levigne (B2), and Coach Rob Profit (Ice Dogs, Robertson Cup) for the instruction, and opportunity to provide the best!

Was this a TriCaster 100 or TriCaster PRO, Jon?

We do a Tricaster Pro 3 camera shoot here in San Antonio for the SA Diablos of the WSHL. www.diabloshockey.net
One middle camera up high and the other two are low and through the glass right by each goal.
We use the Panasonic Showstopper as suggested in other posts for instant replay. We split the input from the low camera that is closest to the other teams goalie with one input going to the TC and one through the showstopper--the output from the showstopper is s-video and then to the TC. The showstopper is set to delay 7 seconds, so after we score a goal, the director clicks the s-video input of cam 1 or 3 depending, takes that cam, and here comes the replay! Just click the "play" button on the Showstopper remote and get slo-mo--works great!
We also put pictures and slides from our sponsors in the picture show and run those during the intermissions.
Last year we also used a custom lower 3rd set to 50% transparency for a score bar--this year our streaming provider (audiovideoweb) has a chat and score applet as part of the video window, so thats not necessary.
Oh yeah, and all of this is done by a high school video production class.
