Hi guys

I want make a 3d logo that is semi transparent for the rest of the scene. But I canīt make the insides transparent. They get the same color like the rest of the letter. Ihave tryed to make 2 surfaces for one letter : the one transparent and the other white.
Put the white surface ALLWAYS overcover the transparent area.

How can I fix that??

In the picture the up part of the P should be transparent for the rest of the scene.

Iam very thankfull for everythink!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys

I want make a 3d logo that is semi transparent for the rest of the scene.
But I canīt make the insides of the letters FULLY transparent for everything in the scene.
When I start modeler and I open the text tool and generate A letter witch a core (P,O,A,Q,D,B) the letter becomes fully ONE color at any place of it.ī
(see below) But I want, that the letter kepp it`s core.

For example: O<<<<< You see a BLACK circle with a WITHE core.
I want that the core is fully transparent.

I have tryed to make 2 surfaces for one letter : the one transparent and the other white.
Put the white surface ALLWAYS overcover the transparent area.

This wired effect just appears, when I am usig the stargate FONT.
the other fonts are all ok. Can someone check if he has the same problem with this font????

It looks like you have a polygon in the middle (maybe even non-planar or duplicate poly). In modeler do a screen grab of the font in wireframe shade. This will show the geometry that is created for this letter. Then we can see what it is that needs to be done.

:agree: yeah thats right. there is a polygon in the middle.
And when I select it and give it a different surface the other white surface overcover it.

But i donīt know why this effects appears on ONE font. This font that I need.

Happens to me all the time, with all sorts of fonts. I cut the "hole" polygons and paste them to a new layer, then use them to Template Drill holes in the parent letters. That way, you have holes where they should be, instead of just a different color polygon in the center of your O's, P's, etc.

Or select the 'hole' poly and kit "k" to kill it ...

Right. That explains all. The strange look in the render is two polys in the same place. It is just that sometimes with these automatic text creations, you get strangeness.

Use the drill tool as mentioned.

To use the drill put the hole poly in another layer and separate it from the other poly on the Z. Make that layer the Background, the solid P the forground and run Drill with Tunnel selected.
