The documentation is sure weak in this area.

We broadcast a live feed of a commission meeting and would like to view this on the internet. I have set up a Windows 2000 media server so we and archive the meetings for viewing later.

I will need to broadcast the live.

How do you connect to the Tricaster to receive the video feed.

If you plan to stream live to more than 5 people, you'll need a external streaming media server or a streaming host (see the topic in the other TriCaster thread for that...). If you have a TC-100, you can only serve your stream as a "pull"; that is, the external streaming media server or stream host needs to pull your stream with the IP and port that shows up when you click "Stream Output"*, but if you have a TC Pro or Studio, you can "push" the stream to the publishing point on your external server or host, and not have to worry about firewall/NAT issues.

That help?

* Unless, of course, you're on a local network not directly connected to the Internet, or behind a NAT, and that IP might not really be the external-facing IP (especially if it starts with something like 192.168...), and you may have ask whoever controls that network to help. Using a web site like http://www.whatismyip.com can sometimes help.

I am getting a handle on all of this. I have a Windows 2003 server setup with Windows Media Services installed. I have a Tricaster Pro. I would like to push the stream but the Server asks for the Encoder URL and the TC asks for the location (publishing point). I can't create the publishing point until I know the other Encoder info. Does the push Enode the stream on a set port?
