Hello everybody,

We purchased a VT2 for purposes of capturing PAL and NTSC video feeds from BetaCam SP via component for best quality.

A 90 minute file usually yields a 120 GB RTV file and another 2 GB in audio WAV file.

I am having troubles compressing this RTV file into an MPEG-II format. I use TMPGEnc with the RTV add-on. The file compresses (9 hours but it gets done) but Authoring software gives me troubles with my file. I end up with a WAV file and a M2V file.

DVDit: Once I create everything how I want it and go to build the folder, it tells me:

C:\invitation\001.m2v.
Each GOP header must be preceded by a
sequence header.

Can anybody help me on this one?

Pinnacle Impression SE also doesn't like my files. I am able to import my M2V file into my "clips" section, but once I drag my M2V file from my "clips" section to the Video1 timeline, a popup comes up saying:
"An error occurred rendering a track."

Can anybody help me on this one?

If there is somebody who uses TMPEGEnc to compress RTV files for DVD use, could you please explain the procedure using the wizard? I would greatly appreciate any help.

Thank you everybody.

Maciek

Just for the fun of it...

Try using TMPEG's DVD authoring software. Use the trial version, works great.

Using TMPGEnc encode your audio as MPEG-1 Layer II Audio and your final output will be a single .MPG - Not sure about DVDit but these work fine in MyDVD which is also by Sonic.

Try it with a short sequence first though to save all that encoding time :)

works for me too with MyDVD which came with the burner.

gonnat try that tip from Aegis tho as I get 2 files
M2V and an audio
And yep mine takes all night too
for a 2 hour video

need to get this in the VT to record to DVD format and work with it in TED.
Sure would save bundles of time

TMPGEnc produces excellent MPEG-2 files. Sounds like you may have something set wrong in your GOP based on the error you got from the authoring program.

Don't use the wizard. Try loading the NTSC_DVD settings template that comes with the program. And consult the article I wrote in NewtekPro #7.

E-mail me for it if you don't have it. scorpioprod.at.earthlink.net
