resolution problem

hi,it is certainly a stupid questio wich will get everybody to laugh but i can't manage to get any picture at a resolution higher than 640/480, even if i set the resolution to 1600/1200, the part where it said "resolution" in the render window keeps telling me 640/480.
please help

You need to change the camera settings. Not the global render settings, or use the global settings. You need to set this in the propertys panel of the camera.:hey:
