Hi folks, I've been really busy lately and I had a stack of projects and client jobs to do (and I still do). It just so happens that I was in my high 990+ post count here so I thought I'd stop and finish a couple of projects before I post my 1000th one. Well I finished a couple which took me quite a bit and still working on some.
Anyway while I was working on my (mostly non-3D) client's jobs I had a couple of spare time to play around our favorite app. I decided to do a self-caricature-portrait-model of my self and will soon serve as my avatar when I have the time later. I had a lot of fun making this, pretty quick stuff and mostly using Tek'niques I've learned from my WIP characters over on the WIP gallery. Took me about less than a week or so...couldn't tell because I was modeling sporadically.
About the model:
Well his name is umm...Wickster! I did manage to weight it (I think), it has a UV map for the shirt and the pants. I used a Photoshop image for the UV so you can manipulate the image quite easily, cause I left the text unconverted and layers unmerged. It has a basic skelegon setup but I haven't tested it out on Layout. I was going for the LW9 shirt but I couldn't find a good picture for reference so I just made a LWX shirt. :D
I was originally modeling this in anticipation to LW 9.X with new CA tools, so I could get my feet wet on animating.
I felt it was ready to release it to you guys cause I was itching to post but I couldn't just do a 1000th post without giving something back to the community that gave me so much knowledge, advice, help, plugins, etc.
This is all Modeler stuff so no scenes, just the model and the UVimage.
Anyway, you're all free to use this model for whatever reason you may have, whether be it professional, hobby, personal, profit or non-profit. I do have a couple of request though. If you're going to use this on a pro-job can you mention my name in the credits (it's been my life long dream, you don't have to but it'll be nice). The other is please be respectful of the model, I mean you can edit the model as much as you want, but I don't want to see it killing cats, doing rude abusing dinosaurs and babies, and has to work for the porn industry to make ends meet, you know what I mean. :)
