hi,
how can I make a clip transparent?

In T[2]:

1. Right click on the clip in the timeline.

2. Choose "Enable Overlay."

3. Press F8 to open the edit Properties panel (or the "E" button next to the "Record" button.

4. Choose "Video/Compositing" from the pulldown menu.

5. Adjust the alpha setting in the lower left corner of the "Video Compositing" panel....

Select your clip, open the editor, Turn overlay on, go to Video Compositing, set Alpha to whatever transparency you want (0 is full transparent, 255 is no transparency)
