When wood is carved into there is a smooth transition along facets making realistic image mapping impossible.
Any suggestions for good procedural wood textures (other than LightWave's of course) that will treat this correctly? Or perhaps a node solution?
Thanks

Hey there Surrealist,
I started a thread titled "Is there any way to get good wood?" back on 07-17-2006. It is in the General Support section. The only way I could find it was by doing a search for the key word "wood". If I added any other words that were in the title, the search would come up empty. Along with a few deviated responses, there might be something in there that can actually help.
Thanks for all your help in the past.
tHREEL, but you can call me AL. :D

Moose Dog - thank you for that link. Those textures look amazing! I have a few things to learn about texturing to be sure. Actually barely coming up to speed on layers much less nodes. Thank you.
tHREEL, You are welcome :) and thanks for the tip. I'll look for the thread.

de nada :)
for some reason i've always remembered that link, maybe because of the disconnection: lightwave and minneapolis is not an association you would quickly make. anyhow, someone did some fantastic! work.
