To experiment with the new Sigma2 node I modelled a glass of milk to see how well it would work. This is what I came up with:

50136

Lit with one spotlight, rendered with Interpolated Monte Carlo radiosity, caustics on (accuracy = 10000, why can't this be any higher?) and the glass is dielectric in volume stacking mode.

Can you post your montecarlo setup, I can see a single spotlight without any gi. Your background is black ? I think you must change your background and correct your light setup to get a better result, perhaps with spotlight with soft shadow maps and a correct interpolated monte carlo will be enough for this scene.

The reasons I've turned on the Monte Carlo radiosity is to get the caustics on top of the milk surface and to get the interaction with the Sigma2 milk material. Without radiosity this material node looks different (there's a radiosity checkbox in the Sigma2 node). I didn't put much time in the lighting of the scene, all the effort went into the tweaking of the milk material. But it's a good idea to change the lighting, maybe do some IBL or area lights etc. I'll see if I can update the scene when I have some time.
