This is a project I did for a local company here in Cancun. I made 16 illustrations on a tight deadline. Here are some of them.

Cool.

Looks like it could be a prototype for a new Apple product ..... the Apple iBOT.:D

Nice work.

That was basically the idea we were going for.

Very cool character! Highly expressive for a bot with one eye.

Highly expressive for a bot with one eye.

True, but it makes me wonder--how can it perform complex spatial movement/operation autonomously w/o two eyes and depth perception? hmm...

anyway--the concept looks pretty cool, but the renders do have that distinct "CG feel," so you might want to dirty up/tweak the surfaces and lighting if you want a more photoreal look. But if CG is what you were looking for, then hey its great.

Thanks for the comments.

loki74: I actually wanted a more photoreal look for this one but the art director wanted this kind of look for the project. Thanks for you input.

That is really a nice concept with your robot you designed.
I really liked the one holding the CD.
What was your AA setting how many passes. did you use radiosity.
The metal or plastic of the body was awesome very realistic looking.

dwood2: Thanks, but I co-designed it with the art director, Mauricio Ramirez.

I didn't use radiosity. I used a 3 point light system with spot lights. I wanted a set up that would render fast so I could make fast adjustments. Time was a concern. As for AA I used classic high with an adaptive sampling setting of .0001.
