Just a little atmospheric clip for my showreel.
Yes, I'm making a showreel! Whoo!

I know the sound isn't all that great, but hey :)

Got my signature bloom treatment too :boogiedow

(don't mind the chewing gum on the ceiling. Some guy from Utah put it there, me thinks... Was it you, or your fat cat, Andy?!)

Ohyah, Xvid avi.

I like it. It could do with some variance on those balls. Maybe have little kittens in them ;)

Is this what Paul Debevec did when he was little?
Nice.

No, there's shadow and reflection, but it's just too subtle to see. I agree that it could be artificially boosted, but that's really not my thing so much. It's just a little silly clip with a high render time too.. think like this usually seem to only become apparent once it's done don't they :)

I've been thinking about variance of the balls. What would have been an easy way to do that? It's one ball that has been FXLinked to a particle system... you know lw's particle system sucks...

The PR blur really rocks for stuff like this. :D

Yeah, and you know, even the stills look pretty good although it's got a very low render setting. PRblur is very forgiving for animations when it's still grainy in stills. That's very unlike the old blur...

But I couldn't keep the camera on the ground plane because the pfx system didn't calculate the balls very well, so their bounce point was not always on the actual floor. Very nasty. I wish you could let PFX calculate sub frames as well rather than just per frame.

i would add 10 times more balls :)

you should sell this concept to Sony. :)

looks good, but I agree I'd love to see some glassy marbles or more of a sense of the marbles interacting with the scene lighting.

Really great clip! The only thing that bothers me a bit is that the gravity is a little odd - The initial bounce is quick, but the marbles float up and hang in the air quite awhile.

Hope we can see your demo reel when it's done!

I agree. I can't wait to see the demo reel :)
