I was doing some rendering tests with F-Prime with the latest build of LW. So I took some of my objects that I had built and created this Still. I have submitted a previous piece done with the new radiosity rendering engine and have to admit I still prefer the F-Prime solution, why? Primarily because F-Prime is faster and in most cases the quality is better if not as good. I ran the exact same image and the image sat over night and was still at 55%:thumbsdow and this was at an aa setting of 1 and at 800x600 resolution.
I then set up F-Prime and in less that an hour. I had what I am presenting now. I am also using DOF as well so this is yet another thing to take into account.....
Here are the settings:
Image resolution 800x600
Perspective Camera
AA9
Mitchell Sharp
Sampling pattern Fixed
Radiosity
Final Gather- Interpolated
Intensity - 150
RPE - 48
Tolerances 0
Indirect Bounces - 4
MES 20

If this is the fPrime image, I guess you failed to understand that all the settings listed have very little to do with fPrime. fPrime is a renderer on its own. There nothing like aa, mitchel, final gather. fPrime is fPrime. You can't influence it with LW render settings.

Looks great!
True, the LW GI and AA settings don't affect the FPrime render, but they do affect the LW render that he was comparing the FPrime render to... ;)

You are correct, what I was listing was the settings for the LW renderer. I would have an example to show but I am NOT going to wait a day and a half for an image with the image settings I posted, which would not be possible if I was going to have to render a real world resolution for print media. There are only a few settings for F-prime which makes it almost too simple. I almost feel guilty for using it.
I apologize about not being more clear about my post. You do understand now don't you??

No problem John, I figured you listed the LW settings because that's what you were comparing FPrime to... keep it up, it looks great.
