Automated Clip Adjustments

I do not know how best to describe this but its a bit irritating ... :)

When I want to adjust the in of a clip, the whole clip moves. Is this a feature? Am I ignorant of this feature or its intend?

And sometimes when I move the clip, the other clips gets pushed automatically.

I am just curious about this automation as generally other softwares do not work this way.
