Hi,
The intention of this scene was to test out some of the translucency attributes.
The dragon was exported out of Poser and slightly edited en enhanced for LightWave. I was more then pleased to see that the translucency worked the way I wanted it to work.
I might as well show it to the world, but I won't take credit for the object or the background image (Vue 6 exported background image).

very cool looking test! translucency looks good even in that dim moon light setting...

those clouds aren't in hypervoxels, are they?

No, as mentioned, the background image is content from Vue 6. I'm sure something similar can be made using Hypervoxels though. In fact, when I get back from my vacation I'll have a go at a LightWave made version of the background image.

Hi,
I was so caught up in the idea of recreating the background in LW that I started to work on it sooner then I thought. It was just a quick edit because my vacation is coming up :). I'm sure I can make it look way more interesting, even without any post-processing :)
For the Hypervoxels I used the backlit_cloud preset which I then tweaked to my liking.

nice HV clouds, although I think they should go more to the horizon like the other ones. I think the moon is also a little bit too bright.

Nice translucency and the HV clouds provide some ambient light for the dragons face. I would like to see more overall ambient light or perhaps a point or distant light under the dragon to bring out some detail of his figure. He is the focal point of the composition.

you need fog. think of atmospheric perspective. there is dust and water in the air.
