When I installed LWCAD 2.5 over the previous version 2.1, everything seemed fine. I am missing several of the new commands in the arch categories. I was watching some training videos from aisleFX and noticed I didn't have all the commands he did. I looked for them in the EDIT menu layout area but can't seem to find them anywhere. I do have my own config files pref for a 30" setup.

How can I fix this?

remove the lwcad tabs
reinstall the plugin with it's installer
make sure you point the installer to the right config

for some reason, when I mess with my configs files, things go haywire quick. I was hoping i could simply find the missing commands without having to reinstall. If that's the only way, I'll do it. Thanks Bytehawk.

How do you manage all your plugins, extra commands and lscripts when you move to a new machine?

manage ?
I don't. They're a mess

I have 3 machines, I try to keep the same menu structure throughout but fail miserably because there's so many plugins, updates etc...

keep all the 3rd party plugins in a separate folder is the only tip I can give you

You could check to see if there's no older version of the plugin lurking in the depths of your plugins folders

also manually editing the menu structure is possible
there should be plugingroups with lwcad25_something in the edit menu dialog.

I just found I had set the path to LW 9 in my preset path panel for lwcad. duh! I agree with the mess thingy. I'll keep at it this morning and let you know if I get it right...

You could share your configs between the computers (via the network). Then everything would be exactly the same.

the problem is that not every plugin likes the config files moved.

After uninstalling and trashing config files, etc. I can't get any new menu commands to show. I know i'm missing the archi basics and archi details rollouts and all the menus except for wall. The wall tool also works as it should in 2.5 but i don't have floor, windows, fence etc.

I wonder if someone who had it working correctly could send me their config file and see what happens. This is crazy.....!!! Always on the weekends!!

Interesting. I would do one of two things:
1) Edit and create the menus that fit your work style. I do this...it takes more time initially, but I like the way things are named and arranged. or
2) Delete your LWCAD config and all your LWCAD presets and reinstall. That has worked for me.

Also, email Victor. He's been extremely helpful to me.

i reset the switch on the -c switch to modeler and layout. Cleaned out all lwcad configs and presets, launched modeler first, closed modeler, uninstalled lwcad, reinstalled lwcad2.5, relaunched modler and....VOILA - it worked!

resetting the switch to a new config folder is what did it me thinks. Thanks everyone. Now this brings up the pesky redoing the menus again...

you could save menus without LWcad menus and shortcuts.
Viktor make LWcad menus branches you can load. :D

That's right - he's a smart cookie! I ended up redoing the lwcad menu but loaded my last 30" monitor config so everything else was there. It may be a 30 minute hassle but having all the tools visible at once is really nice.

Is there anyway to control what color a menu has? What makes one blue and the other tan?
