Creating and applying displacement maps is easy. Maybe youre referring to normal maps?

Sir Splinegod, once again I'm an advocate for your video "Lightwave 3D, Displacements and Endomorphs." It's a must-have on this topic. V1u1ant should buy it with all speed. If I recall, it also touches on normal displacements...?

If you check 'play every frame' QT works better.
No i was referring to displacment maps. I messed about with them last night and yes found it easy enough. But after having read some more stuff i realise i need to learn normal maps aswell as you pointed out splinegod.
Ive just ordered a bunch of books so i cant afford to lay out more cash at the moment, sorry splinegod 'cos i have found your free tutorials invaluable to be honest.
Ok so the question then maybe should be. Are there any tutorials for normal maps?
Free tutorials would be good at this moment in time:)
Thanks again

i sense some kind of industry loop going on...
its like....ive been here before....
no seriously i completely appreciate splinegods tutorials and that they would benefit me.
But this is what i love about these forums, its just so damn cosy in here. Splinegod doesnt seem to mind that i choose not to buy his tutorials, and theres an understanding that well, why wouldnt you sell your knowledge on if you can, but hey no-ones gonna dig you for not buying it.
Youve got oDDity and and dogbreath or whoever it is arguing over clay modeling, which all gets real serious for a while. Thats cool, it creates debate, always good in my books.
Then theres this new competition thats being created for a laugh kinda thing, but also for neewbs (like me) and for everyone to learn (maybe more) from.
Plus all the other **** i know nothing about. Its just really cool.blows my mind, really.
N look, i may be a bit of a neewb in 3D but i know when i see a really cooool community with very few hang ups/ego **** going on.
Oh man, dudes i feel really emotional now..........i better jump onto LW quick and watch these norm maps vids.
Oh lord its just like clockwork orange[*.*]
