I having frequent crashes with SpeedEdit 1.0 on my Windows Vista system. This can be just by double clicking on a object. I have purchased a Sony VAIO notebook with Windows Vista Home Premium software. I have had no problems with Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 on this system, and never had any crashes.

I received Speed Edit 1.0 directly from Newtek on Tuesday. After several days of troubleshooting, I still can not produce a simple project. It will crash and I will loose everything.

When rendering, I get errors referring to the files ad2mpgaout.dll? I have located this file in Adobe Premiere 2.0. I have copied this file to windows/system32 file folder. I still have the error message.

I have not had a good experience with this software so far.

Any suggestions?

Any suggestions? Not re: the codec, but someone else may pick up on that. However, in my experience, about 95% of crashes of the "I clicked something and SE/VT instantly crashed" variety turn out to be an issue with the display card, graphics driver, or settings of the latter. For example, it has often been mentioned here that having the invidious nVidia Desktop Manager enabled will often do precisely this.

Premiere is making it crash. Search the forums for a fix :)

I was able to get the problem solved:

1) Newtek has a patch for Vista users. Installed

2) Two files had to be copied to the windows / system32 directory.

Thanks for the followup - nice when people do that. :)

where is this vista patch? I do not see it in my SE downloads (all files are 12/19/2006).

Thanks

It shows in my account, call Newtek. I'd rather run ImageFX and AmigaForever than VistaXYZ! LOL
