Any benefit to upconverting DV to HD?

I shot a feature on a Canon XL2 DV camera (16:9 24p-ish, 2:3 pullup) and I intend to post it using SE with my visual effects and composites done in LW.

Will upconverting my DV 4:1:1 footage in SE as an HD 4:2:2 layoff provide any perceivable benefit (if the upconversion is thereafter used as my source footage) when the final product is ultimately downconverted to DVD or NTSC broadcast?

And will that funky 23.97 interlacing finally go away when in true 24p after the upconversion to HD?

There will probably be debate, but I would say no. In fact, by upconverting and then down converting again you are likely to be adding more artifacting. I would capture uncompressed, post and dub SD through and through.

Have you converted your SD to HD in SpeedEdit? How does the playback look on a large screen HDV TV or Monitor?

What do you mean by 24p-ish?

Both 2:3:3:2 and 2:3 pullup of DV's 24p is still interlaced at 23.97 FPS rather than being a true progressive image.

I'm still playing with SE, trying to find any way to de-interlace footage.
