Hello All;
I am having a difficult problem that I am trying to figure out. I wonder if anyone here has any insight.

I have a simple task - I am importing a Quicktime .mov file into the SpeedEdit Storyboard. It plays just fine - I see the video and hear the audio. Then I immediately render to MPEG-2 and then use Adobe Encore DVD to create a DVD. When I play the DVD, I see the video but don't hear the audio.

I have tried other software like Premiere Pro, and After Effects and Premiere popped up an error message saying something about unregognized sound.

This happened to two Quicktime files on separate days - I'm pretty sure atleast one was created with a Mac.

I am confused why I can play the clip perfectly in all applications but there is a problem (with only the audio) when I go and put it on DVD.

Anyone know what's happening here and even better, how to get around this problem ?

This maybe an SE Prefs setting, then the DVD burning software can't encode.

Hope your testing with a DVD-RW, but try changing the SE Prefs AC3/AAC. Also, when you selected SE Mpeg2 did you check the audio box? I believe the default is OFF.

Thanks for the advice. Oops ... I don't think I looked at the audio settings so audio may have been "off". I'll check again tonite.

And thanks for the advice on the SE preferences settings. I'll try this too.

If you have AC3 enabeled and the audio Mpeg2 box checked, and still have the problem, disable Prefs AC3. Most burning programs do this for you and may not understand it is already AC3.
