Exporting to previous versions

I'm using version 9 and would like to export my scene file to 8.5, but under export it seems the only version I can export to is way back to 5.6, is there any way to export to other versions or am I out of luck? Thanks.

you can load 9.0 scenes in 8.5

no problem

the 9.2 scenes are not compatible anymore, they fixed some object-ID stuff in 9.2 and had to break backwards compatibility.
