Workflow question (Opening files)

Well, pretty general question, but it might help not only me to stay more calm and relaxed at work.

I'd like to know what I need to do to open the file dialog windows so that I look at them with the "Details" setting and ordered by date. Each time I open them it's set to "List" and ordered by name. Even if I change it to my prefered settings, next time it's back to "List" and name.

How do I change it? Any guess or isn't it possible?!

I guess you are using windows, right?

I dont think that this can be changed to the "Detail" view as a dafault.
Here is a commercial solution but I have not tested it.
