View Full Version : Yeah thanks ScreamerNet . . .
I'm not happy :(
Set a render going over the weekend for a deadline this week.
I come in hoping to see all the lovely rendered frames, but oh no, LWSN has crashed, well locked up, cheers thanks for that.
:(
ScreamerNet is not the best tool out there.
If you need more reliability you should try some newtork tools like:
http://www.rayserver.com
But keep in mind all network tools run over the implementation of LWSN (which is the base of screamernet). So if we didn't had such a simple to integrate command line tool, it would be impossible to have network controllers :-)

no budget for renderfarms on this job, besides, we have 9 networked machines here (when screamernet decides to stop throwing it's toys out of the pram!!!)
I don't think Amleto is realy expensive :-) And you have a 14 days free trial anyway....
5 nodes are 75$
25 nodes are 150$
And this should remove completly the Screamernet pain.

Dudes,
Check out http://www.respower.com . Render fast and cheap leaving more time for animating and tweeking. Pas the cost on to customers. That's the way to do it. Your money for nothin' and your chicks for free.
