Semi-OT: Ethernet woes

I say Semi-OT, bcs this relates to whether I'll be able to use Screamer Net between my G4 and iBook..

the issue is, that I can't mount the iBook on the G4, but I CAN mount the G4 on the iBook.

as you'd guess, the G4 is where I do my LW work, and would continue to be my main LW machine.

I used to be able to pull up the ibook on the G4, but suddenly not.

anyone have a hint as to what the problem could be that G4 can't 'see' the ibook, but the other way around, fine and dandy?

You need to make sure sharing is set up on both machines, and you are sharing over the correct port (Ethernet, Airport, etc.) Often, when you upgrade an Apple patch (like a security patch) it shuts personal file sharing off, and turns off appletalk. Check your settings, and your cables (make sure they are tight) or your reception (airport). If everything checks out, restart one, then the other, check again. If you still can't make it work, I'll try some more...
