Importing HD targas (1920x1080) broken out from NTSC HDV 1080i clips captured in SE. The targa sequence loads and renders perfectly in Premiere and Digital Fusion. The fields play back perfectly in both those programs, along with Windows Media Player. However, when I import them into SE and render out as an .m2t, the fields do not work. Doesn't matter what settings I click (fielded, progressive, boxed, cropped, stretch). I've tried rendering the original targas with fields reversed but no luck. Again, these frames all render and playback fine in the other programs. It appears like SE may be scaling up the fields on the y-axis or something.
Anyone having issues with fielded targas?

Hi,
My name is Lindy von Harringa. I just purchased LightWave software for my MacBook. My goal is to use "Final Cut Pro" Video sequences that are rendered and put onto a DVD, import them into LightWave and animate the sequence. How do I do this? I am a beginner. Thanks (I want to videotape my daughter playing the piano, and animate that also). I need simple steps. Lindy

Carbo,
Have you tried chnaging the field setting in the Layer settings from auto matic to one of the other?

Jose,
Thanks for the tip. Apparently you can't leave the layer/fielding box to "automatic". It must be forced to "field 1 over 2" when importing .tga's. Once I figured that out, it's working like a charm! Now if SE could just do an "additive" mix between 2 layers!!!

The reason we can't pick that up automatically is that the TGA files don't contain any fielding information, it's just a bitmap.

Carbo,
Give us a sense of performance and SE behavior with those TGA seqs. That is, How long does it take SE to open the folder containing them? How long does it take SE to place the TGA clip on the timeline/storybrd? These times should be directly related to the number of frames/images in your folder(s). How many frames/imgs are in your folder(s)? Have you tried seqs with over 2,000 frms/imgs? Any issues?
Thanks
